Tri-County Housing Development Corporation Successfully Hosts First Golf Outing
Harrisburg, PA September 15, 2016 – Tri-County Housing Development Corporation, LTD. (TCHDC) took advantage of a hot, dry summer day to host its first golf outing. On August 23, 2016, 50 golfers teed up at Sportsman’s Golf Course in Susquehanna Township to raise nearly $12,000 for the organization. Proceeds raised from sponsors and golfers benefit TCHDC’s mission to promote and develop affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals and families in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry Counties.
Sponsors for the golf outing included Event Sponsor Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Harrisburg; Gold Sponsor A.C. Rimmer; Silver Sponsors Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), Eckert Seamans Attorneys at Law, PNC Bank, Monarch Development Group, LLC.; Team Sponsors Swartz Kitchens and Baths, Dauphin County Commissioners, Mid Penn Bank, McGraths Pub and Restaurant, Skelly and Loy Engineering, Members 1st Federal Credit Union, Smigel, Anderson and Sacks Attorneys at law, and Vietnam Veterans Chapter 542. There were also more than 30 Hole Sponsors, numerous Door Prize Sponsors, and other donors.
“This is the very first fundraiser in the history of our organization,” said Gary E. Lenker, Executive Director. “We are very thankful for the level of support from our community and the golfer turnout. We would like to build on this year’s success and do even better next year. We’ve already picked a date for our next golf outing – August 22, 2017!”

TCHDC was created in 1990 to address the unmet need for affordable housing in Central PA. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and is a certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) for the City of Harrisburg, and Dauphin and Cumberland Counties. Since its creation, TCHDC has developed nearly 700 units of affordable housing for area families. TCHDC’s activities are structured in direct response to local affordable housing needs and projects are developed within the context of building partnerships, revitalizing communities, and supporting our tenants and homeowners by offering them supports and services to help them achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.
